How Express Lumpers helped Vishal build his career and his new life in Canada

Moving to a new country comes with plenty of uncertainty. Having to do it during a time of celebration from where you were born can make the transition especially difficult. This is what Vishal experienced when he made the move from India to Canada in 2022.

“Actually, I landed at 2022, on the season of Diwali. At that time, everyone was struggling to get work,” says Vishal. It can be an overwhelming sight, especially for a newcomer. Most new migrants enter with rose-colored glasses of how life in Canada is. There is a misconception that it is a bed of roses and from the get-go, Vishal was awakened to the reality that it was anything but. It’s a good thing Vishal had someone who helped give him a path toward stability.

“One of my friends suggested to me to work with Express Lumpers.”

Working in the logistics industry is something Vishal never expected to do when he came to Canada. “When I landed here, I didn’t know about anything, like how to do containers and how to drive (a) forklift,” shared Vishal.  With training from his leaders and co-workers, he’s learned how to be a valuable member of the supply chain of Express Lumpers’ clients.

Vishal’s growth also goes beyond the technical know-how of being an associate. He proudly shares, “I’ve (learned) a lot of skills. I can manage a team. I can coordinate with my team, I can coordinate with my clients.” Communication is one of the key components of finding success in Canada. He’s proven he has those skills by building strong connections with Express Lumpers’ clients in various industries and using his technical skills to Deliver Excellent Experiences.

Vishal knows there’s still room to grow. His goal is now to level up to help Express Lumpers’ clients emerge as top players in the marketplace. “Now I am working to gain more experience so I can compete with competitors,” he shares.

He may have left his home country during their Festival of Lights, but now he’s in his new home serving as a light for his friends, colleagues, and his clients.
